Scripture or Special Religious Education (SRE)

NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.

Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.

Scripture (SRE) at The Meadows Public School

Each Wednesday at The Meadows Public School, Scripture or SRE Lessons are run for 30 minutes.  Lessons are carried out in age groups and taught by trained teachers.
Lessons in the following religions are offered to all students: Catholic, Protestant, and Islamic.
Students who do not participate in Scripture Lessons (Non-Scripture) are taught Ethics by Class Teachers.

Students are placed in a Scripture Class according to the choice their parent/carer made when they enrolled at The Meadows.

If you would like your child to join Scripture Classes please complete a Special Religious Education and Special Education in Ethics Particpation Letter.  You can access this letter by clicking the link or collecting one from the School's Admin. Office.
